Catholic Youth Football Club (CYFC)
The CYFC was formed to teach the fundamentals of football within a framework of Christian standards and values. This club is the football program for all parish members of St. Charles Borromeo, St. Roman, Blessed Sacrament, Our Lady Queen of Peace, St. Alphonsus, Catholic East, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Gregory the Great. It is open to school and Catholic Youth Formation students of these parishes, 5th-8th grades. The CYFC encourages and welcomes your child to become a member of this football team. The club is split into a 5th & 6th grade team and a 7th & 8th grade team.
Practices and home games are held at St. Charles Borromeo parish located at 3100 W. Parnell Avenue, Milwaukee. In 2016 we plan to hold a practice in conjunction with St. Thomas More High School football team. Games are generally played on Saturday mornings with some weeknight exceptions. The season runs from late August through October. Our players have enjoyed playing under the lights at Martin Luther High, Shorewood High School and Brookfield Academy fields. We also traveled for games at Lake Country Lutheran in Pewaukee. Our players enjoyed playing at these different venues and showcasing their skills to different audiences. Uniforms and equipment are provided by the CYFC.
The CYFC also provides great social opportunities for member families from the participating parishes. A corn roast or hot dog cook-out is held to kick off the season. Homecoming festivities with a pizza party following the games and a middle school dance that evening. In the past, we have held a pancake breakfast fundraiser.
CYFC is also involved in the community through "Saints in the Community." Saints in the Community has raised money for CYFC families dealing with an illness and in recent years has collected coats for Condella's Coats for Kids and personal care items for St. Ben's.
If you would like to get a taste of what the CYFC is all about games are posted on the calendar and under the schedule tab.
